Bratislava Day Two

Had another relaxing day today. Walked up and checked out the Bratislava Castle. Wasn't nearly as impressive as all of the others we've seen; however, you get the sense that Bratislava is just starting to build its tourist trade and in five years it will be a site to see.

We're off just out of the city tomorrow to check out some Gothic ruins that are supposed to be cool. Bratislava is a great way to end our whirlwind trip as we're both very relaxed and enjoying the slower pace.

Countdown is on Dave! Only three more days and Simba the "retired search and rescue" dog has to come home from his great adventures. We're excited to see him, we're not sure how excited he'll be to leave his life of heroics and valour. We're sure he's been petted and loved enough to keep him going. No one will be as happy to see him go as Doc! Poor Doc, been totally displaced by a fraudulent war vet.

Hello again from Brenda!
I am sending this under anonymous as I'm too laze to set up an acct.

Well it's Friday! Thank god the weekend is here. The 1st week back after a long holiday has got to be the hardest. You guys are missing one hell of a great January, weather wise! I know you both don't care as you are having a blast beer tasting. Must be nice! Thanks for the euro-homeymoon blog. It been great reading all about these countries and knowing which ones have the best beer. I'm going to set one up for the summer on my journey to Nfld. Somehow I know it will be a rum tasting tour of various fishing communities! Take care and talk when you get back. We'll have to go out again with the grp and try your hand at darts. You both have strong arm muscles now!
Later, B

To heck with Doc! Who is going to meet my emotional needs? Simba is the sweetest dog and how am I going to explain to my staff that he has returned home? They love him at work. PS I never told anybody that he was retired.....just in training!
Have a few beer for me on your last days!
Take Care
Dave

I am glad you're getting lots of beer drinking practise, but remember you will have to keep it up when you get home, as Gavin is meant to be over here visiting this year. (I think I had told SJ that!) It would be nice if someone in the family could keep up with his consumption! However, when SJ and Gav begin discussing politics and their opposing views, I don't know which Randy would prefer to be - stone cold sober so he can watch the entertainment, or drunk and oblivious.
Just think when you two come back you could begin a business on the side - beer tours to Eastern Europe! It would be particularly popular down under. I'm enjoying my Saturday off. Tired after the first week back at school. Love mum

Hello sis and new brother in law
Well I see wanting to annoy men with large guns runs in the family! When traveling through LA airport on my way to New Zealand about 3 months after 9-11 I was floored by the 'rambo' geared up army guys posted around the airport. Their green cammo didn't really disguise them that well, and they were packing some serious hardware - very very large guns - I'm sure Randy, Randy and Brian would know what they were. Anyway I wanted to take pictures of them like a fun little tourist, the girlfriend I was traveling with convinced me that I shouldn't. She told me that Americans don't have the same sense of humour that Canadians do.

Glad you guys are having a great trip - doing it well by the sounds of it - sex and alcohol in every country!!! Can't wait to see the pics of the pg-rated parts of the trip.
